Photo Update

My life in pictures

The kitchen, also my morning shift.  My job is to make lunch for the base, which is a busy and exciting task which requires energy and lots of engredients as we are feeding about eighty plus people every day!

Every Tuesday we have base worship and this week I was playing the violin.  Do you see me?

In the afternoons I work in the hospitality department and this is my team.  We clean, cook, bake, prepare for guests, make get well cards and anything else that helps people know that they are welcome in our house!
Oh and my favorite verse right now is Zephaniah 3:17....it's a good one!

Hey, this is Cassey...remember me?  I'm about five foot eight, with short brown hair that is almost always up in a pony tail.  I'm sorry that it's been so long since I've updated you all!  I will try to do better in the future.  How is everyone doing?  I would love to hear from you, my address is: PO box 162, The Junction NSW 2291, Australia.  I have been here for a grand total of seven months now, which is the longest that I have ever been away from home.  I am currently working in the hospitality department which involves, leading work duties, baking treats, making beds, and any task that makes our guests feel more welcome here.  So, if anyone is planning a trip to Australia, there is always a  place for you here at the YWAM base!  Seriously, come on down, I'll fix up a room for you! I am enjoying what I do here and have some incredible people that I work and live with, basically I am very blessed.

Here is a little recap of the past seven months:
October-March I staffed the 2012-13 Compassion DTS.

Oct-Dec was lecture phase and Jan-March was outreach in Bangladesh!  This whole experience was super challenging and stretching and I really learned what it meant to be a staff rather than a student, so instead of being poured into, I was the one doing the pouring out.  It was good for me.
After the school I took a trip up to the Gold Coast with three friends and we had an amazing weekend, after that I spent a week in Australia's capital city Canberra, with my friend Marley.  Now I'm all rested up and back to work.  Oh and I am really looking forward to something cool happening in June...Korey is coming to visit me!! :)  Bye for now, Cassey

It's Time to Fight!

At 5pm last night all five outreach teams came together to formulate a plan of what to do since our need is still so great with finances.  It was not an exciting meeting to walk into, because we were weary and ready to be done fighting, but the battle was far from over.  The leaders at the base explained to us that the victory is sweetest when you have to fight the hardest.  And then we remembered!  Our word from the begining of the school was that we were fighters (an army)!  And because our fight is not against flesh and blood, that means that there must be some serious Spiritual warfare trying to stop us from going on outreach.  Why?  Because as a group we are committed to serving our Father in Heaven and we have heard from Him to go to these countries and that He is going to use us to bring people to Him!  We have have a call! A hope! A purpose! And satan hates this, but it's God's delight!  Lord, please give us the strength to keep up the fight and help us to be listening to your strategies and be obedient when you ask us to do things.  This battle belongs to you God!  *If you would like to know more about what's going on here, just shoot me a facebook message and I would love to give you things to pray about for us and keep you up to date.  Also if you want to partner with us financially just let me know and I'll tell you how you can do that.  Christmas Eve, Lord willing we will book our flights!  It's time to fight!  Love, Cassey

Here is an article that Jono, one of the students on the Compassion DTS that I am staffing wrote about our experience being homeless for 24 hours, it was pretty incredible:

WE ARE GOD'S TEAM!

I would like to introduce my outreach team to you!

Back row: Natalie (19) New Zealand, Marley (18) Canada, Morgan (18) Canada, Stephanie (21) France. Front row: Rouyal (26 also the other leader) Australia, Alexa (21)  USA, Rachel (18)  USA, and Myself (23) USA.

They are an incredible bunch, very eager and willing to impact Bangladesh for the glory of God!  We would love for you to be praying for us as we prepare to head to Bangladesh at the begining of the new year!  Right now if you could be praying for:  God to be preparing specific ministries for us and also softening the hearts of the people there.  Also that we would be prepared, provided for, and ready when the time comes for us to leave.  :) Thanks!  Your prayers change things, believe it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey Everyone!

It's been a while since I've caught you up on what's going on with me, let me attempt to do so. :)  Today is Thanksgiving Day and my Australian friend Ruth made pumpkin pie just for us Americans, I can't wait!  Life has been pretty busy for me since I got here, we are in week eight of the DTS that I am staffing and it's going really well.  I have three girls that I am mentoring during their school and their names are Marley, Morgan, and Natalie. Staffing here makes for very full and happy days and lots of leaning on God.
In January I am co-leading a team of six students and we are headed to Bangladesh for two months!  I would really appreciate your prayers as Rouyal (my co-leader) and I plan our outreach, which we are in the process of doing right now.  I would love to hear from you all and how you are doing.  Thanks for your prayers and support!  God bless, Cassey

I'm Here!

Hey everyone!  I just wanted to let you know that after a long 18 hours in the air I made it to Australia!  Thank you Magali for helping me get to LA and keeping me company on the flight to Seattle, that was awesome!  Right now I am taking two training courses to be able to staff a school here, they keep me busy pretty much all day.  In one week the students will be arriving: all 22 of them (21 girls and 1 boy)!  The picture below is taken from the April school's commisioning celebration; it's a tradition here to take an all homeschool picture. :) We have quite a group.  Thank you all for your prayers and support.  I miss everyone and I love you all.  ~Cassey
